To Sirs With Love

Here's the deal, I have been crocheting away making scarfs to donate to a mens shelter. Things were going well until I decided that the scarfs were too plain. I had this bright idea to change the pattern of the scarfs, well that was a big mistake because I have crocheted and taken one scarf down at least 3 times. I finally finished it this morning...thank God! The pattern was nice, but it was taking forever to complete one scarf, so in the essence of time I decided to go back to the original pattern that allows me to crank the scarfs out in no time at all and now I can finish them while it is still winter. I have been using autumn and winter colored yarns and they can be a little and they have the tendency to fall a little flat and I didn't want that. I also make greeting cards and I've noticed that although the colors are very rich, you still have to enhance them a little to make them pop. Men don't really care about that kind of thing anyway. The main point to this project is to help keep them warm during the winter months. I am trying to locate a crochet pattern for creating hats as well, so if any of you know of one, feel free to share.

  1. Glad to see that you have considered men in your project for scarfs. Often times, crocheting gifts, etc., are given to women or children. Men will have a real appreciation for this as their wife/significant other now has something new they can wear to the office!

  3. What a wonderful cause to take on! It's can be easy to forget those who are less fortunate when it comes to the simple necessities (especially in this weather.) Very admirable!
